LATEST WORKS

These pieces are part of a client commissioned full logo animation package for their social media branding, which includes sound design. The client requested a "glitched out, analog, PS2-era" style for both the visuals and & audio.

LATEST WORKS

I was recently hired to do sound design for an Irish phone repair company's logo animation. This logo animation will soon be used in the entire company's internal and external rebranding effort, including on their social media accounts and official website.

PERSONAL

MYELINGAMES

LATEST WORKS

I am currently working with a YouTuber who creates lore videos based on the games Destiny 1 & 2 by Bungie.
I create various
sound effects & soundscapes for his 3D animation segments. As well as this ongoing weekly work, I recently sound designed a quick transition animation for his Twitch streaming channel.

RCSI

LATEST WORKS

Working for RCSI for almost two years, I created countless sound effects & mixed & mastered many videos. Unfortunately, since I worked there fulltime, I do not own any of the content I produced & therefore cannot put any RCSI content in my portfolio. Here is a fantastic screenshot instead for your viewing pleasure...

LATEST WORKS

A client hired me to create a logo animation for their Sci-Fi concept art brand "Kuiperdot". This included motion graphics animation, the creation & editing of sound effects, & the subsequent mixing & mastering of the piece.

SOUNDCLOUD

PERSONAL PROJECTS

Here are some tracks that I have created in my spare time for fun, & also to constantly push my sound design skills further and further. Exploring a completely different genre with every new track informs my sound design, diversifies my range of influences & expands the bank of sonic inspiration I can draw from.

Music Videos

PERSONAL PROJECTS

Below, you can find the music videos and visualisers I created for some of my songs and musical experiments. I used a variety of software (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Ableton, Reaper) and hardware (self-made circuit bent analog glitch synthesisers, Behringer Crave, Elektron Model: Samples) to create these pieces.

Watch Now

PERSONAL PROJECTS

ancilla mitosis

This project was born from pure experimentation with the visual coding software TouchDesigner. Once I made something cool, I decided to add some weird sound design and creepy textures. I kept with the experimental and abstract nature of the project thus far and used some granular synthesis, extreme timestretching, etc.

Scaothe

PERSONAL PROJECTS

For this project, I experimented with a few glitch plugins in After Effects & footage of a dove. The music used is my "Hold//Break" track, which you can find on my soundcloud above.

Red Tape

PERSONAL PROJECTS

I recently finished working on a independent short film by the name of Red Tape. Although my official title in the cedits is "Sound Designer & Re-recording Mixer", I carried out all elements of audio post-production for this project, which also includes dialogue and sound effects editing, foley recording, final mixing, etc.

Red Tape has enjoyed great reception from audiences thus far, but has not been officially released yet, so until then an unlisted YouTube video must suffice.

PONG XTREME 4000 ULTIMATE

Game Audio

I created my very own game with the intention of using it to showcase my sound design & audio implementation skills. I used a template for most of the actual game design, but every aspect of the audio, from the music right down to the actual implementation with middleware (FMOD), was done 100% by me.
Click the link below to learn more about the game & even play it yourself on windows devices! Enjoy.

Tanuki's Dream

Game Audio

Tanuki's Dream is a 2D top-down, arena-like dungeon crawler made by students as a final year project. The lead 2D artist, who is a friend of mine, informed me they wanted get rid of their temporary "placeholder" audio and implement proper game sound design instead. I offered to get involved, and I had an absolute blast doing it!

Unfortunately, because I joined the project at the
end of the games development cycle and extreme time constraints, the programmer did not have time to implement all the audio I made for the game. I was only needed for sound design, not implementation. However, I am still extremely proud of the work I did for this game!

Ambiences Vol. 1

Game Audio

I wanted to get better at ambience sound design with unique settings in games, so what better way than to simply create some game ambiences and learn a hell of a lot along the way, which exactly what I did!
A
brief preamble for each piece can be found below, but they are non-essential so feel free to skip them.

Ambiences Vol. 1.png

1. Cyber world

Inspiration - Helldivers 2, The Matrix: Revolutions

Since Helldivers 2 dropped (excuse the pun!), I cannot get enough of it. It has such a cool setting and amazing world building that you can't help but wonder what it would be like to actually live in the Helldivers Universe.

The inspiration for this piece came from that exact thought. More specifically, what would the Automaton home world look like, feel like,
SOUND like. In my head, I couldn't help but picture the Machine city from the end of The Matrix: Revolutions, so I used that as a visual guide to create this dark, futuristic, electronic hellscape.

2. Spaceship Loading Bay

Inspiration - Star Citizen, WH40K games, Star Wars games

I love missions in games set on space ships. If you just stop and listen, spaceship ambiences are always so unique, stimulating, and surprisingly relaxing! They always make me wish I lived a few hundred years in the future, which obviously won't happen, but becoming immersed in a well done spaceship ambience is the next best thing!

3. abandoned underwater base

Inspiration - Bioshock

I was always both fascinated and horrified by the world put forward in the Bioshock franchise. When going through the glass tunnels between buildings, you can stare into the abyss of the vast open ocean... It simply terrified me (It doesn't help that I have a fear of the deep ocean!). I played these games when I was quite young, so they left a lasting impression on me to say the least. I channelled some fear from my great experiences playing these games, which I used as inspiration to create a suspenseful, horror-type ambience.

4. Tanuki's Dream - Swamp Ambience

Inspiration - King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie

Tanuki's Dream is set in a swamp, and the first game that came to mind for me that is also largely set in swamps is King Kong: the official game of the movie (amazing game by the way!). These are vastly different games, but just because a game falls in a different genre, style, mood, etc. doesn't mean you can't take inspiration from it. The King Kong swamp ambiences are a quite stripped back and raw to give more space for the large quantity of enemies you face, which also lends itself to creating a sense of lonliness and hopelessness in the more quiet moments of gameplay.

I used this ambience as a building block for Tanuki's dream, while making it evoke less feelings of despair! Tanuki's Dream is a very basic game with limited mechanics, so I filled up the ambience a bit more to make the game feel more alive. The audio for this game was created on a very tight deadline, so making the game sound fuller with ambience was key to making it play like a more complete experience with the little time I was given.

Game SFX Vol. 1

Like most game sound designers, I really enjoy making crazy futuristic weapon SFX. I am currently working on a SFX pack that encompasses many weird and wonderful futuristic weapon sounds that I will release for anyone to use copyright & royalty free.

Tairseach

Tairseach is a 2D side-scroller that I am making, along with a 2D artist/programmer. It is currently in the pre-production phase. I am carrying out all aspects of audio for this project, from sound design and dialogue recording to implementation with Wwise. Stay tuned, more details coming soon!
